Chelsea 2025/26 Away Jersey - Fan version

In the early 1960s, former-player-turned-manager Tommy Docherty took the reigns at Chelsea Football Club. He started a trend – that managers would have a say in their team’s kits. Thus, he chose the all-blue look for Chelsea that we know today.

Well, years later, approaching the 1974/75 season, his successor, Dave Sexton, selected a unique away top. Enthralled by the “Magnificent Magyars,” he chose to mimic their kits. Who were the Magyars? The Hungarian National Team of the 50s, who revolutionized the way soccer was played. Sexton, wanting to mimic their success, took a note from their wardrobe as his starting point.

And thus, Chelsea kits with white, red and green became a reality. And now, on the 50th anniversary of the endeavor, Nike take the opportunity to iterate on the jersey – offering up a fashion-forward approach to one of Chelsea’s most unique one-offs.
